Ohanzee heard a howl. It was Akina! Water...there was water where she was at! He looked wildly around for some kind of gap in the fire wall, but there was no sign of one...and it seemed the wall of fire was closing in on them...

Lythrian's eyes darted back and forth. An opening, an escape...anything! She thought, desparate. Then, she heard Akina howl. Water! How something she had always taken for granted would help so much now. The sudden realization that had been lurking in the back of her mind took over her. Ohanzee and her weren't going to live if they stayed here, and no opening was coming to let them out. They might not even survive if they did get an opening. "I'm jumping." She said, blandly. Closing her eyes, Lythrian readied for the jump. Then, the alpha female threw back her head and howled to her pack. Her howl would tell the others she was jumping, to go to Akina and water, to escape, and it asked if everybody was or had escaped. It also told of sadness, and hope she would escape. Then, taking one last look at Ohanzee, the wolf launched herself into the flames. She tumbled as she landed, and fell into a clump on the ground. The world spun, and black over came her. Head falling onto the ground, Lythrian fell into unconciousness.

Bow cursed under her breath as she was led into another clearing that was completely surronded in fire. The fire was closing in fast. Bow heard Akina's howl. Water! Then she Lythrian's howl. Lythrian was trapped and going to jump! Bow swallowed as the flames roared closer. The fire was too think by now and growing thicker. If she jumped she'd die. The trees nearby began to sway from the flames. "Ancestors! help me!" As if answering her call two more trees fell but proved little help as both were covered in flames and left her still trapped in the vanishing clearing.
Finally defeated, Bow dug desperately under the fallen trees. After she had dug a small hole she crawled under. The smoke wasn't as bad. However, the smoke and heat made breathing very difficult. Bow struggled to draw breath. She didn't even have the strength to howl. Slowly the darkness played at the edge of her vision. It grew and expanded like a smothering blanket. Bow's eyes closed to the darkness and the world of flames around her.

Ohanzee also prepared himself for the jump. He felt very faint, and very tired, and very thirsty. He was afraid that he wasn't going to make it. He wobbled a little on his legs as he stood up to get ready to jump. His eyes started to droop shut. -No...must make it...-

Akina paced desperately. Where were they? Should she go search for them? Akina lept into the water and swam the the opposite shore. No. It was pointless. Even if Akina did find them what could she do. Drag them throught the fire. Akina lowered her head in a silent prayer. "Please, everyone. Please be safe."

Twitching, Lythrian slowly became concious again. Her vision cleared, a little, and she smell something burning. Yelping weakly, she realized that it was herself that was on fire. Jumping up, she extinguished the flames. She walked a little forward, a little out of the burning flames, then collapsed, her vision spinning and blurring. Then, slumped on the ground, she was out cold again.

Bow stirredd beneath her wooden prison. Slowly her odd colored eyes opened to the world around her. Gasping, she struggled out from under the trees. The land was grey and barren. Smoke curled from the hot gound and in the distance she could see the dying flames. Bow limped a little ways and collapsed in exhaustion. They had too move. Humans could be here any second. Should she risk calling the others? Bow lifted her head and howled a haunting howl that echoed around the charred earth.

Ohanzee was just about to pass out when he heard Bow's howl. -Bow...? Bow? Bow?!- Ohanzee suddenly found the strength to get up. He looked around to find that the fire had pretty much died. Maybe he did pass out...he didn't remember the fire dying out... Suddenly, everything turned black adn swirled out of view. -Wait! Where is everything going? Help!- Ohanzee was falling and spinning in circles. Nothing could be done...
Moments later, everything came back to him. Ohanzee jolted up. It was only a dream... He weakly stood up. He glanced around and finally saw the others. They were all standing around something. He found the strength to smile and run to them. When he finally reached them, he noticed that they were sad. "Why are you all frowning?" he asked them. But they didn't reply. They didn't even look at him. -That's weird...- he thought to himself. He suddenly grew solemn like the rest and looked at what they were all looking at. -No...it can't be...but...- He stared at all the others. "Hey! I'm right here though! Look at me! I'm fine see!" he shouted, hoping one of them would see and hear him. -No...- Everything swirled out of view once again, and Ohanzee was alone in the dark...
ooc: Don't worry, I didn't kill him. He's like half dead, you know?

ooc: have you ever seen The Princess Bride! "......he's not dead. He's MOSTLY dead." Sorry I couldn't help myself. ;D Oh and guess what? We had a wildfire happen the day after it rained. I goofed. oh well. ic: The fire slowly died down as it ran out of dry fuel. Akina heard a haunting howl a little ways away. Bow! Akina swam across the stream and onto the other bank. She shook herself off and ran towards the howl. Akina was so bent on following the howl that she tripped and landed roughly on the ground. Wait a minute...... Akina turned to look at what she tripped over and gasped. "Ohanzee!!" She ran over to him. He was out cold maybe even.....NO! she couldn't think like that. Akina howled loudly to tell the other that Ohanzee was hurt bad. She just hoped the other would hear her.

Bow's vision swam and her head ached. Suddenly she heard a desperate howl. Ohanzee was in trouble! Bow felt her body serge with adrenaline as she staggered up and clumsily ran. She stumbled up next to Akina and stared at Ohanzee's still form. "OHANZEE! OHANZEE! Pleas talk to me!" she screamed. Slowly her wits came about her. Resting her head gently on his neck she listened.
There! A slow heartbeat. He was still alive but only just. Bow wracked her brain. "Akina! I'll stay with Ohanzee. Find me some Violet Sandwort and if you can some Aloe." Bow watched as Akina nodded and raced off. "Please don't let it be too late...."
ooc: oh, yea. I'm akina also so I just went ahead and made her react. I hope that's ok.

ooc: You know what? I was going to say something about Princess Bride, but I didn't know if anyone saw that movie or not, so I didn't. But you're right...he's MOSTLY dead, not totally dead. There is a difference!!! Lol! But, yeah...I LOVE that movie! It's great! I like the Spanish guy who's getting revenge on the six fingered guy because he killed his father. And then he always tells everyone what he's going to tell the six fingered guy. "Hello, my name is ............ (I don't know how you would spell it, so I'm not going to try right now!) You killed my father...prepare to die." I love it! LOL! ;D Anyways, should get back to our story... ic:
Ohanzee just laid there, doing nothing. He heard nothing, felt nothing, and saw nothing...he was thinking nothing, just how he was all alone in the dark. He felt like he was going to be there forever, never to see, feel, hear, taste, or anything ever again...it was an awful feeling... But wait...did he hear something? Was that Akina and Bow? He tried to cry out to them, tell them he was there, in hte dark, alone, but there was no sound. He knew his mouth was moving, atleast there in the dark it was, but there was no sound. What was going on? What was going on?! -Akina! Bow! HELP!- he thought to himself, as he couldn't say it, atleast they couldn't hear it. -Help...-

ooc: Your kidding me! My favorite guy is the spanish guy too ;D and I love what he says to! The Princess Bride is a totally sweet movie. I'm glad someone else has seen it. ic: Bow gently set about to licking and cleaning his wounds. The burns were bad. She hoped Akina returned soon with the herbs. While she worked she hummed sweetly to herself. It was the song of healing that her human pack used to sing when someone was very sick. "Great Spirit," she prayed "please, help us heal Ohanzee!" Bow howled a clear note to the sky. Her human pack believed that the howl of a wolf was one way to carry messages and prayers to the Great Spirit. She bowed her head and once again set to humming and cleaning.

Lythrian stirred when she heard the quick howl of Medicine bow. Stirring, she opened her eyes, and winced as the bright light hurt her eyes. Her fur was badly burned, and her nose, paw pads, and tail was burned worse. Wincing as she stood up, a sharp pain hit her. Stumbling as black filled her vision, she nearly fell. Staggering upward, she walked slowly towards the forest, dragging herself along. One of her back legs seemed almost unfuctional, and she cursed angrily to herself about it. Finally reaching the forest, she flopped down in the shade. Coolness covered her body, and she sighed with the little relief came.
Thinking back, she remembered how she had woken. Bow. Where was her pack? She thought to herself. Tilting back her head, she started a howl to tell where they were, but a fit of coughing rack her body. It seemed like black sludge filled her lungs, as she wheezed for breath, trying to get more of the precious oxegen.

Akina skidded into the forest. Bow had asked her to collect some herbs. Slowly she sniffed along and recognized the scent of aloe. On the outskirts of the forest some grew in small patches. It was prickly and Akina had to use utmost care to pick it. She added it to her collectiong of other herbs and trotted to the edge of the forest.
Akina gasped as she saw Lythrian and dropped her herbs. "Lythrian!" She had to get Lythrian to Bow but she was so small. Akina cursed her petite size and howled. Bow could bring Ohanzee into the shade near Lythrian and help instruct Akina in healing.

Bow heard Akina's howl. Not Lythrian too! She coughed harshly and realized the smoke must have scarred her lungs. However, the Great Spirit must have pulled her through this for a reason. Bow stooped and gently eased Ohanzee onto her back ignoring the pain that coursed through her body. She had to save him and Lythrian. It was her duty.
When Ohanzee was balanced on her back she began to walk. Each step was painful and slow. Her body protested at her every movement but her mind and heart urged her forward. She'd lost two packs already and she refused to loose another. After what seemed like forever Bow reached the shade and rolled Ohanzee onto the ground next to Lythrian. She collapsed. Bow struggled to get up. She had to complete the healing ritual....but she was so tired.
