Ohanzee nodded back and followed her as she headed towards some deer tracks. He hadn't ever hunted with a pack before, so he wasn't sure how well he'd do. He was used to the other wolves and being in a pack, but how well could he work with them to take down a deer or anything like that? Hopefully well enough...

ooc: Sorry, I haven't been on the computer in like forever. I have soo many school tests going on right now... I think I am caught up with whatever happened while I was gone.... ic: Finally, Lythrian awoke. It had been a good, long rest. Stretching, she looked around to see where her pack was. Nobody was there. She padded softly out, glancing around quickly. "Anybody here?" Nobody seemed to answer, except a call of a raven. They must have gone out hunting or for a run, Lythrian thought, yawning sleepily. A sudden rustling in the grasses around the clearing brought her attention. Her nostrils flared, and she smelled the faint smell of mouse. Belly rumbling, she slunk into a crouch position, and edged forward. Soon, she pounced, and headed back to the den to gnaw on her kill and wait for the others.

ooc: Hey it's ok! ;D We missed you bunches. I know how those tests can be. I have to retake a math test. Oh joy! Actually I didn't fail it but I have a retake left so I can use it on this one or pitch it. I chose to use it. I must be nuts. ic: Bow stalked carefully over the terrain following the scent of the deer. Suddenly she froze. The deer scent was being masked by something....dead....and rotten. Bow crept carefully up to the source of the fetid smell and nearly choked. Lying the grass was the half decayed form of a wolf.

Akina noticed the rank smell in the air. She tried to ignore it but Bow stopped. "Bow what is i-" Akina yelped in surprise. A dead, decayed wolf lay before her and the stench was terrible. Akina crept forward a bit and saw the rusted piece of steal that encirled the dead wolf's broken leg. It was a human trap. A trap they must've forgot to check. "I'll call Lythrian. She should know about this."
Akina walked away from the corpse where the air was clean enough to draw breath for a howl. She threw her head back and howled briefly to summon Lythrian to their location. Akina howled again a little later just to make sure Lythrian could find them.

Lythrian had just finished eating the morsel, when she heard her companions. Clambering out of the den, she threw back her head and howled that she had heard and was coming. She loped quickly out of the clearing, with a ground covering pace.
Soon, a terrible stench reached her nostrils, making her almost gag. This must be what they called me about, she thought, as she soon found them. Her maw dropped open when she saw the dead wolf. Its leg was cruelly twisted the the metal trap, and it was half decaying. She glanced towards her pack mates. "Is this why you called?" She asked, sadly.
Cautiously, she moved forward, closer to the wolf. The stench grew worse as she neared it, and flys buzzed lazily around it. "Poor thing." She whispered, as she gently reached out a paw to turn it's head so she could see it's face. "I wonder how long this wolf's been dead for?" She mused to herself, after she withdrew over to her packmates.

Bow sighed sadly at the corpse. "It may have been 6 weeks more or less. I'm no judge of time when it comes to corpses." Bow studied the metal trap. "Humans set this trap but it's old. Apparently they either knew it still worked or forgot about it along with its victims." The corpse made Bow's stomach knot and made her feel ill. Turning to the others she asked. "Do you think the humans are still hunting on these lands?"

"I have not smelled humans at all since I started the pack here. They might be hunting here, but normally you can here or smell a human from almost a mile away. So, I dont think so." She grimaced, looking back towards the deadly trap and its victim. "We need to make sure there aren't any more traps though. If there are, we'll have to warn others about them." Lythrian sighed, she hoped this wouldn't become an even bigger problem. "Hopefully," She said thoughfully, "The humans will stay off our land."

Ohanzee too came across the rotting wolf. It smelled strongly and he held his breath as he approached it. He hoped that humans would stay away from here. He shuddered as he thought about everything he had heard about how horrible they were...

Akina shivered. That was the word: Humans. Those freaky, feather-less, flight-less birds. She had heard many nasty tales about them but this was pretty bad. Wicked creatures. To kill without being threatened or without any intention of eating was cruel.
Akina's stomach grumbled and she blushed. How could she even think of food at a time like this. Sighing she said in a voice barely above a whisper "Let's go hunt. Maybe it will take our minds of this."

"It might." Said Lythrian. She let out a shudder, as she took one last look at the wolf. "Was there a trail or something you were following here?" She asked, hoping the rotting wolf wouldn't turn her off eating.
She forced herself to look away from the carcass, and she trotted further away from it to fresher air.

Ohanzee stared at the dead wolf for a long time. He thought about everything he had heard and decided that it was true. Humans were cruel and thoughtless. They didn't care at all about anything besides them selves...they were greedy. He tore his eyes away, and silently followed Lythrian and Akina.

Bow sighed at the copse. 'May you find paradise.' she whispered. Bow then trotted off after Akina, Lythrian, and Ohanzee. She really hoped that hunting would clear her mind. Bow also hoped that the hunters wouldn't become the hunted.

Trying to get rid of the thought of the corpse in her head, she attemted to strike up a conversation. "So...you guys were following a deer trail weren't you?" Lythrian winced as a new thought emerged. Deer often used the same paths over and over again, so did other prey. What if the wolf was following this trail?

Bow caught the look in Lythrian's eyes. "We were but I think the herd might have moved into the cover of that field over there." Bow stopped to assess the situation. She wanted to leave this trail and she wasn't lying about the deer scent leading into the field but......the field was full of corn. Humans. She was shocked that humans had leaked this far onto wolven territory. "Shall we proceed with caution?"

"Yes, we shall proceed. But please, everybody be very, very careful. I don't want anyone hurt or killed." She sighed, then fixed her eyes on the ground. Then, with the first step, she headed into the crop of corn.
