Lythrian looked around, and growled softly to herself. I have heard many loners come here....where are they though? she thought. Her ears pricked at the sound of a twig snapping, but lowered when she discovered a bird had caused the disturbance. She spun around, and looked for signs of loner wolves.

Medicine Bow was weary. She had traveled so long and was exhausted. Bow collapsed and struggled to swallow her tears. When she stopped moving it all flooded back to her. Blood....so much blood and she couldn't save any of them, human or wolf. Bow covered her eyes with her paw and struggled to get ahold of herself. Finally she stopped when she picked up the scent of another wolf. Odd....wasn't she on neutral land? Yes, she was. There was no way that the wolf would attack her, so she hoped. Bow struggled up and started to follow the scent but exhaustion dragged her down. She let out a soft and melodious howl. Perhaps the other wolf would come to her.

Lythrian pricked her ears at the howl of another wolf. She sniffed, and smelled the scent of the other wolf. She wasn't that far away. Lythrian tilted back her head and let out a howl to alert the other wolf she had heard. The white wolf started loping quickly in the direction of the the other wolf. Maybe this was a loner....she hoped it was.

Bow raised her head. She could smell the other wolf approaching. Good. Then she heard a reassuring howl. Finally someone else to talk to. She had been alone for so long. Bow bent her head and licked the wound on her leg. It would heal in a few hours. She was lucky to be a medicine wolf. Smiling Bow looked at her surrondings and waited for the other wolf.

Finally, Lythrian got near enough to actually see the wolf. She was white with a sand-colored blotch on her back. She seemed to be licking a wound on her leg. Lythrian started at a faster lope, and soon was next to the other wolf.
"Hello, my name is Lythrian, alphess of the rebel pack. Who are you? Oh," she had nearly forgot the other wolf's wound, "Are you ok? What happened?"

Bow looked up at the other wolf. "Oh, Hello Lythrian. My name is Medicine Bow, but I prefer just Bow. As for this wound...." Bow trailed off and sighed. "I got caught in a human trap. It's not broken and it should heal quickly. I'm rather skilled at healing." Bow gingerly stood up. "Did you say your the alphess of the rebel pack? If your in need of a healer I would love to join." Bow waited for a response all the while wondering what they were rebeling against.

Lythrian jumped at the thought of having a healer in her pack. "I am the alphess. Yes, please join! I would love to have a healer in the pack...although it is quite small right now, but it will grow!" She smiled, then said, "Follow me, Bow, and I will lead to the deeper forest, land of the rebel pack!" Lythrian turned and started to trot away, but took a moment to look back to see if Medicine Bow was coming.

Daybreak grined. "Thank you!" She quickly followed Lythrian, cursing a little at her limp. Bow was glad that Lythrian was so enthused about having a healer in her pack. Many of the other wolves Bow came across were fearful of her strange powers. Bow trotted up to Lythrian. "I'm curious. You say your the alphess of a rebel pack. What are we rebeling against?"

ooc: Ok, that works. Let's worry about it later though. ic: Suddenly something caught Bow's attention. She turned her head and scanned the seemingly empty horizon. Bow sniffed the air. It didn't smell like danger. In fact it was a rather unusual scent, one she had smelled before but couldn't place. Bow shifted next to Lythrian. "Did you hear something just now?"

"We are outcasts from all the other packs, so we rebel against them." She said this, then looked at Bow. Medicine Bow was looking away, and sniffing the air. After Bow moved over to her and asked the question, Lythrian tilted her nose up, and sniffed too. There did seem to be a strange scent in the air. "Do you know what it is?" She asked, and pricked her ears for any sound. "Maybe we should get out of here..."

"It sounds good to me." Bow turned her attention back to Lythrian as they picked up their pace. Bow thought about what Lythrian had said earlier. Outcasts from other packs. That's what she was. Every pack she had ever tried to join up until this one had refused her. Bow was surprised at how quickly the rumor traveled. The rumor of her powers that had banished her in the first place. "I think I'm going to like being in this pack. For once I actually fit in." Bow smiled at her new found friend quickly forgetting the strange scent she smelled earlier.

ooc: Are we actually going to have something that is the strange smell? Or should I just lead you to pack territory? If I lead you to the deeper woods here it is:
ic: Lythrian looked back at Bow to see if she was following, then sped up a little. Soon, she would be back home with a healing wolf...soon, the pack would grow. Lythrian's mind was racing with thoughts, and soon, she and Bow where racing through the trees in the forest.

ooc: the woods are fine. Maybe we can do something with the smell later on....that's is if we can come up with an idea. ic: Bow was clumsily following after Lythrian trying to ignore the pain in her right front leg. Yet, she felt comforted by the thought that she would now have a friend. Catching up to Lythrian, Bow took in the sights and smells of this new region. Soon she would be home.
